What happened to the play calling?

We go from some really creative play calling back to the same dull qb draws and short slants and screens.  did rod go back to hobby's play book?  I actually thought he had his own play book going for the first time last week.  Guess not.

We got behind by a lot early.  That takes you out of your game plan.  This was not an issue of playcalling.

How many first down runs did we have last night?  I know we were struggling throwing the ball, but c'mon, Miami was just waiting there with 7 guys to tackle Andre.  Terrible play calling.  I gave Rod Smith credit last week, but this week he should hear about how bad the play calling was.

In defense of Coach Smith, Miami showed that they were gonna stack the line to stop Hall.  Their D-line was over powering our O-line.  Our QBs were throwing very inaccurate passes mostly right into Miami's hands.  Our receivers showed an inablility to catch.  Add to that the fact that you are playing a great defense that is possibly the fastest defense in College, which eliminates reverses and bootlegs.  With all of that, what do you call?  I saw the O attempt screens, draws, short passes, intermediate passes, zone runs, power runs, etc.  Nothing was working!  I can't really fault Coach Smith's play calling on this one.

There were open receivers on most of the plays where the ball was picked off.

Actually, twice the open receivers were attempted...and missed that bad!  Whoa.

It's hard to call plays once you've spotted opponent 17 points, this one isnt on smith (and remember i HEAVILY argued against that promotion), its on the players, who were scared offensively.

Incidently, QB draws are good calls vs miami, but only once you've established something else, which we never did.

It seemed like anything we ran, didn't work. I really don't think the team was up for this game. They were plain flat! Concentration not there, execution not there, mindset not there. A plain flat out team botch up! It also seems that when this team gets behind, it's the ballgame! No spark to ignite them. Coaches, this is your call!

since it wasnt a BE game i dont think they came ready to play..poor performance, even when they gave us first downs, and we went for the field goal, and missed wide...
