You guys are looking at this the wrong way. USF should be thinking in terms of whatever helps us win the conference and/or get better bowl games.

Is USF better served by a UofL win over WVU, or vice versa? I'm not so sure we should be pulling for UofL. If WVU wins, it pretty much eliminates Louisville from the conference title race. If WVU and USF can hold serve against Rutgers and Pitt, that would make the WVU@USF game the biggest game of the Big East season. And it's at home. And WVU would probably just replace UofL in the polls anyway, giving USF another Top 25 home game.

The BE has a tiebraker system put in.  if UL beats WVU, and we LOSE to WVU, its still a 3 way tie!  WVU would hold that tie breaker on us, but if they were to go on to lose a 2nd conference game, we'd still be in the lead.  Not true if they beat UL.

Now what if we beat WVU along with UL beating them?  Then we're basically up 2 games on everyone, unless another team in the conference is a surprise.

Its like this:  If WVU wins, then the WVU @ usf game is almost the conference title, barring miracles.  We win that too and we probably take the conference.  BUT, if UL won, then we might get some leeway even if we lost.

There is a clear advantage to UL beating WVU for us.  Probably for the BE too, since UL is ahead of them in the polls, and no way does a WVU team beating UL jump them past where UL will be at that point in time...BE bias will just suck its overall rankings down more.

Diddy,

Is that new this year?  Because that's not how it has been.  In the past, if WVU., Louisville, and us all have one conference loss, we'd be co-champs and the team with the highest BCS ranking would go to the BCS game as the Big East's representative.
