I'm not gonna say much about the um game  :P

We're 1-0 in conference play, have the week off and going up to a bad Pitt team.

We'll get back on track and then be ready for a WVU team that could also be undefeated in conf.

4get about um and keep your eye on the main target! BIG EAST TITLE !!!

Go BULLS !!!

Question on BE championship rules, which I cannot locate on their website.  If we manage to win out the remainder of our conference schedule, we will be 9-2, 7-0; if we lose another game it'll be 8-3, 6-1.  If Louisville wins out their remaining games, they will be 10-1, 6-1.  If we tie for conference record, does our victory over them become the tiebreaker or overall record?

what happens if usf's only loss is to wv

louisville's only loss is to usf

wv's only loss is to cards

with such few teams this can easily happen

I think MikeB is right, but can't verify.

That would be an interesting scenario Smazz.  I think it would be good for the league to have three 1 loss teams... but i hope there is one 0-loss, 2-horned team come december.

2 or 3 teams tied, championship goes to higher ranked team.  Otherwise, it is head to head matchups.  Miami won their last championsip in that manner over WVU.

According to that link, a 2 way tiebreaker goes to the winner of the head-to-head matchups.  If it is 3 way, then the ranking kicks in if none of the 3 teams have beat out the other 2.  USF would lose a tiebreaker based on rankings, so we MUST beat WVU to get a tiebreaker on them as well.

Good work Smith, I looked all over and couldn't find the Big East tiebreaker rules.

I'm kinda surprised that the tiebreaker isn't "highest ranked team in the BCS poll", since the BCS rank of our conference champion will dictate whether or not the league keeps the auto-bid.

For example, if UofL ends up 10-1/6-1, they'll probably have a decent rank in the BCS poll (say #12-15). A 8-3/6-1 USF team wouldn't be anywhere near that high. Would the conference really send us to the big game over UofL?
