He was a starter at a JUCO last season before getting injured. Numbers weren't that impressive. Good to have some depth I guess.

On the plus side, he's got roughly 1000x more experience and productivity than two of our more hyped transfers, Slade and Thaxton. At least we know DeBiase is capable of playing football. The other two have about 27 minutes of gametime in their entire careers combined.

That's a silly statement, Debiase was a walk on at Miami and I'm still not sure if he is even a scholarship player here at USF. Thaxton was a scholarship player at Tennessee and tore up JUCO.  Slade played last year at Arizona st but last year they moved to a 3-4 defense and he played end in a 3-4.

Both of those players are way more decorated than Debiase. I would not be surprised at all if he is walking on here.

Played high school at Raines high school in Jacksonville.  I’m sure Bell has had his eye on him for a while and feels he’s a good fit for his offense.

The same Ryan Thaxton who has 3 tackles in his college career? And Slade who has 8? As excited as I want to be on their potential as HS players, fact is, neither has done jack and they’re running out of eligibility.

The silly argument is for any of us to think we have any idea what Thaxton and Slade will do.  I am the eternal optimist that am hoping they attack this opportunity as last chance U and use their talents to fill our voids.  They could just as easily be a Jimmy Bayes or Andre Polk.  Your point that the QB is the most sure bet is solid and I like his name and the last Augie we had on campus worked out nicely for us.  We need depth and at this stage cannot be too choosy anyways.

I remember my dad being a JC asst football coach in the late 70’s in Illinois , only football knowledge was playing HS ball and he was, still is a mean sob.  The sidelines were pre HR and lawyers, I still say better time, nobody went after a coach no matter What chi town hood they were from. Not sayin everyone respected their elders but they did not sucker punch them either.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
