This USF Offense is Going to be Outstanding

There were big question marks all over the field during this off-season - Offensive Line being one of the big ones.

The offense will go as the OL goes, but I do believe the creativity of KB and the Line (on paper) being improved by getting bigger and stronger and supposedly a bit more talented......we should see an overall improvement here.

Bell seems like a fun guy.

What would be more fun than the opening series being two half back dives, then a pass play to try to get the 8-10 yards?! It would be a hilarious joke.

The main issue we had upfront last year was lack of ability to identify & pick up stunts, blitzes, or really any type of pre-snap movement.

If you’re the optimistic kind, take note that a change at OL coach could help prevent some of these issues. Couple that with the progression of some young returning starters and there’s reason to believe this unit can improve.

If you tend to sway more on the pessimistic side, you can point to the fact that there won’t be a coach on the field to help these guys figure out stunts/blitz pick ups pre snap, and eventually these guys have to figure it out for themselves. Experience usually helps with this, but there are guys that just struggle to understand what the defense is trying to do. It happens fast, and it’s an undervalued part of being a great OL unit.

Our interior group looks pretty solid. Those young guys should take a step forward, and all have the physical talent to compete. I’m not sure that we are consistent enough at OT (despite Norman’s NFL interest). I’m not overly optimistic about the Atterbury experiment at LT, and the last thing I want to see is Wilcox having to stay in and block/chip.

I’m confident KB can hide some physical deficiencies here, but mental breakdowns causing players to run free will blow up even the best play call before it ever has a chance.

I'll be fine with it, if we come out with that, and it works, and we get the first down.  Actually that would be a funny joke.

No worries about the OLine.  We had 3 freshman playing with one being the center. who makes the adjustments.   Our O Line is huge and pretty athletic.
