CCS seems to be making all the right moves in the offseason, ie staff shake up, hiring OC KB, and the influx of new blood from the transfer portal, however, I can’t seem to erase the 6 game slide down the toilet to end last season from memory banks nor his tenure at UT.  I sat in the rain at the Gasparilla  bowl and watched a team under CCS get run out of their own house by freaking Marshall.  It was the fitting end to the 6 game slide.  Until I see real difference on the field, color me still skeptical.

With that said, I’m really hoping CCS has figured some things out and can get us back to being in the hunt for an AAC title.  We don’t need nor can afford to go through another coaching change.

I agree. You have to show me that we no longer suck.

Well said.  Charlie Strong has alot to prove this season.  I am quite skeptical as well.

The charges were dropped and he was vetted by Strong himself. We couldn't afford not to give him a chance. Will.be on a short leash though. Don't forget our starting Olb was 200 lbs Last year.

We now have real potential at lb this year.

I missed that one...who is the kid from Tennessee?

It think the program quit. I think he had to weed out staff and players. There will be competition will be fierce.

Weeding out the players goes against everything CCS stands for.

We don't know that is the only reason.  Maybe some of these kids also quit on the team and were a cancer in the locker room......those rumors have been floated around as well.

That's on the head of the program. He has responded in kind, but it remains to be seen if the new pieces will work out. He went through a similar situation in Texas and things didn't pan out there. The jury is still out on him as a HC. Great job at Louisville, abject failure at Texas. This will be the season that defines him as a HC.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
