Baseball Bulls in the Pros - Hitting Update

Not as much excitement here as with the pitchers. But the Bulls have 4 position players in the minors. 

Top of that heap is Kevin Merrell who is with the AA MIdland Rockhounds of the Texas League. He is batting .258 with 32 RBIs and, surprise, surprise 10 Sacrifice Bunts

Last year MVP darling Coco Montes is struggling a bit at the next level. Playing for the A Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League he is batting .233. He does have 8 HRs and 47 RBIs over 288 ABs so the production is there but aside from the BA, his OPS is 0.661

Statistically the best looking hitter we have this year is David Villar who plays for the Advanced A San Jose Giants. He has been on the injured list for a bit so with just 213 ABs he has 6 HRs, 33 RBIs and an OPS of 0.765

Finally Joe Genord, the new baby of the pro leagues, is up in the NY Penn Short League with the Brooklyn Cyclones but he shouldnt be there long. In 51 ABs he has 4 HRs and 4 2bs. His BA is .314 and his SLG is .627 with an OPS of exactly 1.000
