So someone already stole my thunder, but its worth noting again that Jimmy H made it to the Bigs. He is now the third bull in the Majors at this present time. And I am not 100% sure but that is either the record or pretty close to it for the number of Bulls in the Majors at the same time. Jimmy was 1-4 over 33 relief appearances for the Louisville Bats. He had 2 saves in 4 opportunities and sported a 3.58 ERA and a WHIP of 1.43. Not lights out numbers in AAA so he is probably on a pretty tight leash. Lets hope he lasts!

Also recently promoted was Andrew Perez who started the year with A Kannapolis Intimidators and a 2.25 ERA over 36 IP. His performance was enough to move him up to Advanced A ball with the Winston-Salem Dash. He has made 4 appearances and has a 3.38 ERA over 8 IP.

Also Congrats are in order to Kevin Quackenbush for making the AAA PCL All-star roster. Who knows maybe he'll get called up to the Dodgers as rosters expend toward the end of the season. Jimmy is 2-2 over 33 relief appearances for the Oklahoma City Dodgers. He had 4 saves in 4 opportunities and sported a 3.11 ERA and a WHIP of 1.12. Quacker is still a lights out K artist with a 13.38 K/9ip and a K/BB ration of 6.22. Lotso potential there. Kind of weird journey for KQ, he was drafted by the Padres was brought up and sent down 12 times over 3 years before he elected to go free agency, the Reds signed him to AAA and brought him up once last year. He elected to go FA again and was out of job for over a month before the Dodgers signed him.  It took Austin Adams a few years to  find his spot with Seattle this year so it may just be a matter of finding the right spot. Good Luck Kevin!

Shane Mclanahan is still rolling. After being promoted to Advanced A, all he has done is go 3-0 with a ERA of 0.39. He has allowed 1 earned run over 23+ innings and seems to have gotten the wild thing from the end of his last year with USF as he has 26 k to 3 bb. Far and above the best stats of any USF pitcher

Austin Adams has found a home with Mariners. In 22.2 IP he has a 2.38 ERA, a 15.88 k/9ip and a 4/1 k to bb ratio.

Phoenix Sanders is pitching well in the Rays farm club, he has an ERA of 2.19 over 37 innings and 9 saves in 12 opportunities. Opponents are batting .205 against him

Peter Strzelecki is plugging along in Wisconsin, nothing spectacular, nothing awful. Hes an inning eater, 33.2 innings pitched in 23 appearances, opponents batting average is .279 but he has only allowed 14 total runs.

On the down side, Tommy Eveld was demoted to AA after struggling with the AAA New Orleans Baby Cakes. An ERA of 7.71 and a 2-1 K to BB ratio probably doomed him. But on the flip side, back in AA he has had 2 appearances and has done well over 6.1 IP he has a 0.00 ERA and his bb/ip ratio is 3.5, much better

Joe Cavallero is having a tough season, after being demoted early in the season to A+ ball, he has not fared much better with a 4.88 ERA through 20 appearances

Also struggling is Ryan Valdes who was also demoted earlier to A+ ball. He however is on the DL with a shoulder strain so maybe he has been injured this year. He is in Bradenton playing for the Pirates if you want to root him on after he gets out off the DL

And speaking of DL

Dan Otero is on the 7 day DL for shoulder inflammation, he has pitched in 20 games for the Indians and has a 4.56 ERA
Brandon Lawson, now with the Giants farm system, was on the DL for a broken toe, but now is back, he has 13 starts for the Richmond Flying Squirrels and sports a 2-4 record and an ERA of 4.04

Overall the Ex-Bulls are 22-33, 4.33 ERA, 1.34 WHIP,  28/37 SVO, 525K vs. 198BB, in 473.2 innings pitched

Saw somewhere Adams got his first ML win, too.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
