Guys, this is why they have NFL scouts. They know where to find ‘em a la Khalid Mack

I know right... There have been guys who haven't played much that have been drafted.  I don't get what what they're saying.

Why would they not care to see them?  This actually doesn't make a lot of sense.

Because they aren't going to make it to the NFL

With the amount of dollars in the NFL and TV available, no one is going unnoticed that can play. You might drop a round or two because of the perceived lesser competition or a guy who could be a late round pick becomes a FA pickup, but the NFL has shown time and time again they're more than happy to take a flier on a guy. Hell, guys have been signed who never even played college football.

No, a realist.  Less than 2% of college players make it to the NFL

A realist wouldn't make the statement above with such certainty.

In light of Pender choosing UNC it got me to wondering. Why is it that kids get caught up in the glam of “P5” schools? We have seen it time and time again with Wollard, Cherry etc. Last year Armwood highly recruited RB Snead chose OSU when they had 3 or 4 other 4* RB’s already on roster now that guy is at a JUCO. Pender chose UNC, what’s the over/under on him wanting to come back home in a year due to a “hardship”?

Sometimes the best play is going to a school like USF, UCF, CINCINNATI, Temple, Houston etc where you can play early and often and not have to sit two years behind 4 other 4* just because the jersey says OSU, UF or FSU. Do you think USF should stop taking transfers that snubbed us from the get go, I feel those highly touted recruits look at school like ours as a fall back.  Look at Ed Oliver, could have went anywhere in the country but went to UH and still got drafted 1st round.

Americans like big shiny things, the P5 schools are always on big name TV, are generally seen as more prestigious, and have the money to build the big shiny things (facilities etc). It is what it is but any coach that doesn't take a player who can help his team for no other reason than "you should have committed to us as your first choice" is foolish at best.

Most kids want to play at the highest level and, believe they will earn a starting spot, so if they get a P5 offer they take it.

USF should absolutely not stop taking transfers. Not every transfer will turn out like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but if you stop taking transfers you will definitely miss out on the next MVS.

However, do be aware that going forward the ncaa is going to make immediate eligibility more difficult. We have lived off that in the past.
