It was imminent.

Glad we have the news.  Need to know buyouts, though.

If we are going to do home payday games against FCS opponents, might as well keep that 1M or whatever it is in state and with my beloved HBCUs.

I was always curious as to why we had never played Bethune Cookman before. Seems like an obvious FCS opponent. We always liked some Elon and Charleston Southern for some reason.

I would have rather played FIU, but it's cool, we are still keeping it in Florida. Plus with these two blowouts, we will get to see some of the younger guys play.

A little disappointed that the 2020 home slate is probably the weakest since our C-USA days (Nevada, BCC, UCONN, ECU, Navy, UCF). I never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but thankfully we have Navy and UCF on the schedule at least. 2021 with Florida and FAMU is fine. 2023 with Alabama and FAMU....we could have scheduled a high school and it would still be awesome. 2026 is incredibly weak with FAU and BCC, but road trips to Bama and The Ville sort of balance it out. 2027 with Miami and FAMU is just fine.

At least FAMU brings their share of fans to the game. 2011, we drew 50,000. 2015, the number dropped precipitously to 30,300. Hopefully we can draw somewhere around 40,000 with them for the future games. We only paid them $450,000 for the 2021 game. Interested to see the contract terms for the recently scheduled games.

Hopefully, with WKU and UMASS already on the schedule for 2022 and 2023, we can look to add a mid-level P5 team (UNC, Wake Forest, Duke) to the schedule to add some interest to the home slate.

Those 2 teams should have been alternating year home games for us from the beginning ...

Agreed. If they were willing, it should have been a given. Makes no sense for us to be playing SC State this year. The only way it would make sense would be if there was an FCS school that ran the triple-option and we wanted to stay fresh playing against it in the years we don't play Navy.

You know.....FSU would fit nicely in 2022 (Tampa) and 2023 (Tallahassee).
