Bulls Making Early Contributions after First Week of Summer Ball

Cortez stays hot at the plate, Gonzalez homers in first at-bat

TAMPA, June 10, 2019 – With collegiate summer baseball leagues well under way, several members of the USF baseball team are off to nice starts with their respective clubs.

Summer Ball Bulls
Alex Bello – Danbury Westerners – New England Collegiate Baseball League

Bello has played in four games thus far. In the season opener on June 5, he went 1-for-3 with a run, then went 2-for-5 on June 7.

Jake Sullivan – Savannah Bananas – Coastal Plain League

Sullivan has played in seven games in his second stint with the Bananas. He hit in three of his first four games to open the summer. Sullivan went 2-for-4 on June 5 with a RBI and has two runs batted in and three runs.

Julio Cortez – Amsterdam Mohawks – Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League
