Hi Guest,

Just a note to point out our TBP-initiated drive to raise funds for the Bulls Football IPF - doing our share, and more.  Please consider donating at least $23 to the effort, and passing on to others as well.  You can read more about the project at the link above.

Neither here nor there, but it's got to be a serious home field advantage for the pitchers to be throwing at home at places like Vanderbilt where the mound is turf along with the rest of the field. Hitting off turf is weird, but not totally foreign since most tams have a turf batting cage and put down a turf mat in the batter's box when they're taking BP, but pitching off of it if you never have has got to be awkward, at best.

Are the mounds turf? I was under the impression that those were still clay. I'm not positive though. I agree though, its an adjustment for infielders who are used to fielding on a natural surface. You can all the I/O you want but nothing compares to live GBs.

Not sure who else has it, but Vanderbilt definitely has a turf mound.

Yep definitely looks like turf. Not sure how that's legal.

The only reason I started noticing it was because last year, Louisville had a black colored turn mound. This year, it looks like they switched back to clay.

I think it should be a rule to have a clay mound or at least the pitching surface. Some guys like to dig in a little and I feel like it a hazard in the landing zone.

Exactly. If you play in one of the smaller conferences and no one has turf on their mound, you're in deep ****.

Turf mound? HELLO!  I could say so much but it’s just too easy. 😂
