I think this is such a great way for our university to immortalize some of the student athletes who demonstrated a high level of play. Shantig Grace (wbb), Sara Nevins(wsb) and George Selvie(fb). I'm not to familiar with Grace but I did watch Nevins and Selvie during their years of play. Nevins was a fantastic pitcher and of course, Selvie was a wonder to watch. Sure the discussion can always be made that so and so was missed or should have been included. There have been so many individuals who have played their hearts at USF over the years. I'm sure we will see many more included in this honor as the years go by. I'm glad they do this it rewards/honors student athletes who gave their all while representing USF it also helps to establish and maintain tradition. Go Bull's !

She is the program's 3rd leading all time scorer, and was the leader of the team that won the WNIT Championship. She also had the highest single game point total (44).

For WBB - Dickson and Guyton are in the USF HOF.

Courtney Williams will be in the USF HOF.

The interesting arguments down the road will be Kitia and Jenkins.

Edited by Mike Stuben
I thought she was the 4th leading scorer, gousfbulls.com article says 3rd, so I updated.

I'd add Jespersen to that list.

John Lewis!  Tenure and level of service are Hall worthy!

I don't disagree, and I'll have to look at numbers, but my hunch would be that Jenkins would have to be ahead of her. After I look at their numbers, that opinion might change. (Jenkins played in a tougher conference, but that really doesn't matter in WBB when comparing Big East to AAC, in that both have UConn, and WBB always plays a tough non-conference schedule.)

Might need to add a couple more coaches to that, including one COACH JIM LEAVITT.

1. As they deserve to be.

2. She’s a shoe-in!

3. I’d vote for Jenks but not Kitija, unless it’s for the Free throw HOF.

I appreciate that.

I certainly don't think I'm Hall worthy.

I agree. On #3, if I had a vote, Jenkins belongs. Kitija (and Jespersen) are strong candidates, but if the classes are 3-5 a year, and we have 16 sports, that means each team would approximately get one in every few years. By the time it is ready to consider Kitija and Jespersen, there may be newer players who have earned their spot from WBB.

One more thing, for honors like Hall of Fame and banners in the Dome, those are usually delayed by at least 5 years after graduating, it allows the honorees perspective on their accomplishments at USF and makes the moment mean more to them. The fact that Williams is not in yet is not a snub, but just a natural progression.

Also - down the road, Coach Fernandez will be in the USF Hall of Fame too, but hopefully that will be many years down the road, since hopefully he will be here coaching for many years to come.

Grothe, Selvie, and Flowers are a lock.  We have a lot of defense stars that should be considered from 06-09 as well.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
