You seem to be missing my point that Nortre Dame lost the national championship game and the vaunted Colley Matrix listed them on the top of their ranking...because of that absurdity, the NCAA won't directly state they are co-champions.

They do, it's in the record book, which we've been discussing this whole time.

That sounds good to me.

2. For those of you clueless enough to claim that the system "changed with the advent of the BCS +1 formula or the College Football Playoff, consider this.

- The NCAA FBS Record Book linked earlier in this thread LITERALLY has a section on page 108 titled "National Champion Major Selections (1896 to PRESENT)."  Notice it does NOT say 1896 to 2014 (the year prior to the beginning of the CFP)...or 1896 to 1997 (the year prior to the beginning of the BCS system).

The clueless one is still you, and apparently others. The NCAA FBS Record Book linked earlier in this thread LITERALLY AND QUITE CLEARLY spells out how FBS national champions are determined starting WITH the BCS era. There is no gray area. Starting in 1998, the record book goes out of its way to separate a national champion determined by a recognized process and a team that was just the highest ranked in a final poll.

So this means UCF should change all their "National Champions" banners to "National Poll Leader" banners.  I have to tell you, "National Poll Leader" is much more fitting. 😂😂😂

This was actually determined months ago but I guess their crushed natty hopes for this year have them in reminiscent mode.

I notice you skipped right over the second bullet of point #2...so let me show it to you again:

- If the NCAA really stopped considering the polls/formulas they previously considered, why do they still list them (and the teams they rank as #1) as PRESENT selectors in the official record book?

YOUR bullet point doesn't mean **** in this conversation. The NCAA has spoken in regards to national champions post 1998. Y'all were the highest ranked team in one final, loopy poll, not a national champion. Unlike ats, I know how to cut and paste and will continue to do so until this sinks in:

From 1998-2013, the BCS was used to
determine national champions in FBS.

Other keywords to notice are how they used the term "major selector" in there rather than "national champion major selector". They are making it abundantly clear that they are not associating champion with someone who was only top ranked in a poll.

Notice the NCAA record book uses the term "CFP Champion" and not "National Champion" in that paragraph.

I realized awhile ago that this has pretty much turned into you just stringing us along because there's no way you're this ******* clueless .... but as a good host, I'll oblige and just assume that maybe you have a vision problem that keeps you from differentiating red from white. I'll use green this time:

I'll do you one better than a "copy and paste."  How about a screen shot of the actual document itself!

Notice the circled parts...National Champion...and the effective dates 1896 to PRESENT.  Not 1896 to 2013 or 1896 to 1996 as you seem to believe.

Are you really that dense?  The images you provided state, "The list includes both former selectors, who were instrumental in the sport of college football, and selectors who were among the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) selectors."

No where does it say that the, "selectors" selected a national champion on their own.
