The NCAA has never called them a co-national champion as far as I can find and that erroneous assertion is what UCF and ESPN are basing their stance on ....

Yeah, I definitely believe that you've got it all figured out and ESPN has it wrong. Why don't you write to them and have them retract it?

Nothing to figure out. Nowhere in that record book does NCAA call you co-champions or champions of any kind......... I am biased but not blind.
