The old logo was lame, forgettable, and generic, so not much was lost in terms of history or significance.

This little nugget could not been based on opinions from students but must be what they were told by the administrators who wanted it changed.  This review must have been written by a UCiF student.  Why I oughta...we need a mooning emoji on this interwebs thing.

That was a correct assessment of the logo before the bull:

Maybe if we stopped firing coaches for being successful and having to pay their buyouts or lawsuits

I tried and tried to convince the Powers To Be and Misguided Marketing Firm  that they were missing the boat on their selection. My idea was basic and held some historical significance and...was "Mean" instilling fear in our opponents..But, did they listen?? NOOOOOO...

Just saw this thread and am **** happy we’re going back to the iconic U.  What a waste of money.

Has there been any other source reporting this other than a tweet from TDS?

It’s been less than half a decade for Stan Heath and I will get over what I please when I feel it’s time for me to get over it and I feel there is a reason to get over it. As long as we keep making stupid decisions and taking two steps back anytime we take one forward I am not getting over anything and I don’t have to.

If true this is great news. My wife went to an event and on the literature were the logos of the sponsors. Needless to say the Merril Lynch and USF logos were an inch apart and are scarily close side by side.  I can’t imagine USF wouldn’t get a cease and desist letter from ML.

They wouldn't, because they're not the same and honestly, they're not that similar.
