Wonder if that’s close to a school record for runs against...man what a **** show.

Looks like Jacksonville scored 22 on us in a 22-2 loss in 91 according to the media guide. This would tie the 74 loss to Miami (20-3) for most runs allowed

Bull Drop Finale at Tulane Sunday

Bello and Chatfield extend hit streaks

NEW ORLEANS, LA., April 14, 2019 – The USF baseball team trimmed a 5-0 deficit to just one run, but couldn’t complete the comeback and dropped the finale at Tulane, 6-4, Sunday.

The Bulls (15-19, 2-10 The American) were behind early, as the Green Wave (25-11, 7-2 The American) plated two in the first. Tulane scored another in the second to make it 3-0.

Senior righty Alec Wisely (Jacksonville, Fla.) settled down, retiring seven-straight into the fifth. But after the first two runners got on in the bottom of the fifth, the Green Wave eventually scored two more, making it 5-0.

USF got to the Tulane pitching in the sixth, with four-straight hits. Alex Bello (Miami) led off with a single, Kyle Phillips (Orlando) doubled, then Jake Sullivan (Tampa) brought them both home with a single to right. Three batters later, Chris Chatfield (Riverview, Fla.) hit a RBI single through the right, making it 5-3. USF made it 5-4, but left the bases loaded in the frame.

Tulane added another run in the bottom half to make it 6-4, and the Bulls weren’t able to produce much over the final three innings.

Key Stats

9 – Bello extended his hit streak to nine games.
7 – Chatfield extended his hit streak to seven games.

Nota-Bulls

  • Senior Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) hit in all three games of the series.
  • The top five in the USF lineup all had hits.
  • Phillips, Sullivan and Jordan Santos (Tampa) each scored a run in the sixth.

It's really hard for me to watch this team this year and I've genuinely tried.  I still will but I'm not impressed with this season.  Mohl needs to figure something out with the bullpen considering that's supposed to be his specialty.
