Don’t look at it as a tournament but instead it’s an intensive practice session...that costs $50,000.

Even dumber, but you are correct.

This entire “tournament” is a joke.

I trust CBG but I'm not seeing much upside here. Our tired, injured team won't get much out of this if they can't put it together to beat Stony Brook.

On the other hand, paying $50k to get your kids into a national basketball tournament could get them into the school of your choice!

Some teams have done well getting that extra action - Loyola, Nevada come to mind.

If you could agree the con-conference schedule was the type of schedule this fledgling team needed, you might agree this postseason experience can be equally fitting for this stage of the program.

I think had we just come off the NCAA tournaments, maybe I'd feel differently.  Right now, I am just happy to get more work for this team.

I definately agree.

This tournament makes sense for us "this year" considering where we have been in the recent past.

In future years with CBG this wont even be a topic of discussion for us as we get invited to bigger and better tournaments.  Thats my hope and expectation.

People used to talk the same way about the NIT (Not Invited Tournament).  Now that there's the CBI, the NIT is okay, I guess.

The NIT winner ain't winning nothing outside of a participation trophy either.

For profit tournament run by a non-NCAA group.

I'm actually old enough to remember when the NIT was THE tournament.
