Should we accept a bid to the CIT or CBI if offered?

There is a $50,000 entry fee. Anyone know if gate sales help to recover any of that cost?

I say bite the bullet and accept a bid if offered. The post season experience will help us going forward.

BUT PLEASE NO CBI Banner in the Arena, (might be acceptable if we win the tournament) The NIT banners are embarrassing.

I don't see the reason. They've limped their way to the finish line. Time to get ready for next year.

It really comes down to whether the administration feels like the benefit outweighs the cost.

I think any postseason experience would be good for this team even if it is a low level tournament.  It could help down the road for more important postseason tournament opportunities......But this is not an easy question to answer.

The way we finished, do we even get an invite?

If we're sweating 50k that much as an athletic department we have much bigger problems than making that decision....   My guess is this will be left up to CBG and if he thinks there is a real benefit to the young guys we will accept (if offered).   I think he may decline but more so because the team looked like it was fading a bit down the stretch and he may want the guys to heal up so they can get after it this off season.

If they faded because of injuries, I agree to let them heal. If it was mainly because of fatigue because most weren't accustomed to this type season, you accept whatever is offered, making them play thru it. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger ......... but whatever CBG decides, I'm good with it.

Tournament should be a reward to the team. They played well enough in the first half to deserve that reward. If football can get a reward bowl for finishing with 7 straight losses, might as well reward the basketball team who by all accounts outperformed expectations.

I think Kelly was implying during halftime if offered we are balling.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
