He was arguably our best RB last year. Strange move. Can't see him being a better fit at WR. Hopefully they know what they're doing here...

I'd imagine it's about getting him the ball in space

Could be. He has great instincts at RB. Looking forward to seeing what they have in mind for him. Ford wasn't on the radar for me at all at the start of last season, but turned out to be an absolute bright spot in an otherwise mediocre season. He's a great weapon. Hopefully they can maximize his potential.

I thought he was our best RB last year. He is rather short for a WR I think.

Think jet sweeps, screens and end arounds. They want him in space.

Kind of a side note on this but the article in the OP mentioned Cherry going back to RB. I like that, he had good tape there in HS.

I wonder if this was done to secure Cronkite to stay at USF and to remain as  RB1.

Our bread and butter in 2016-2017, replaced by the HB dive in 2018. I welcome this change.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
