USF offered Florida's Mr. Football Carson Beck from Jacksonville. He's listed as a hard commit to Alabama so it's unlikely he's coming but I wonder if Barnett can have any influence on him.

Wow, Bell hasn't even been here a week and already making waves. It's a bit unorthodox, but extending a scholarship offer to the best high school football player in the state could be just the kind of thing this program needs.

This kid is from Jacksonville so maybe there’s some connection to Bell.

Definitely worth the offer.  You never know.

I've often wondered why we don't do it more often. One thing for sure, they're not coming if we don't ask.

I imagine we ask a lot more players than we offer.  If we find out that they have zero interest, there's really not much point to it.
