This is accurate and a reason to start paying attention.

The next 3 games against Temple (12-3, just beat undefeated Houston), Cincy (12-3), and #17 Houston (15-1) are going to make or break this season. These guys are showing so much promise. Even in the games they have lost, they have only lost by 3 points and fought until the final buzzer went off. They could easily be undefeated right now.

I haven't been to a USF MBB game since I was in college as my schedule does not permit much weekday fun. But I am going to try to get tickets for the Houston game on Saturday 1/19. Hope we can pack out the Yuengling Center for that one!

I don't know that they'll, "break" the season.  We're expected to loss all three.  If we pull out a win or two it will certainly go a long way to, "make" the season.

Dont hate me for saying this. Right now, we are a mid-tier AAC team. We are young, we turn the ball over too much, we are mediocre jump shooters and poor free throw shooters. Our post players are really raw and have a long way to go offensively. We have not beaten (or really played) anybody of note, but opportunity awaits. We will out-rebounded and out-work most of our opponents, but I dont see post-season in out future unless some serious strides are made and those issues are corrected.

This team has come a long way, but still has a long way to go.

I think most people would agree with you.  A mid-tier AAC team is a lot better than what we have been.

That 97 was before last night’s win I believe...but I don’t know if Tulane helps or hurts.

With the Tulane win we actually dropped to 98 from 96.

Thanks. I thought that might happen and will be an even bigger drop when we play ECU (twice).

Didn't they just beat Cinci?  And we have at least 3 games against tough teams that should help before we get to them.

Yes they did but their NET is still in the high 200s I believe. Let’s face it, that probably will not happen again. Yes, even losing to Houston and Cincy will not impact us too bad. But it would be sweet to beat Houston with that game at home.

Things we probably can all agree upon:

1. This team is fun to watch.

2. This team plays hard.

3. This team is much improved from anything we have seen in recent times.

4. This team will finish ahead of their projection of 12th in the AAC.

5. This team is young, and should be even better next season.

Take those 5 positives, and use it to grow. I don't want fans to get discouraged if the results in conference don't equal the non-conference winning percentage. We now are coming into some tough stretches.

With all that being said, I am so overjoyed for what this team is doing and how they are doing it.

Right on, Mikey! Let's all relax a bit and enjoy. Don't fall off the bandwagon if we have a bit of a skid here over the next few weeks. Each game will be a learning experience for next season and beyond for a young team.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
