That's our average. Why are people picking higher than that?  Freakin' optimists.

Please feel free to place your prediction in the upcoming contests and show us how it is done. We are always looking for more people to join in the contest-- and even if you aren't going to catch those of us who have played pretty much every game so far, you can still win the individual game for some fun prizes.

FYI -- against UConn, USF was ~63% from the line

No thanks.  I've stayed away from most things like this and Fantasy sports.  Spend too much time on here as it is. If I got into that stuff my 35 year marriage may not make it to 36.  She's a great sport but there is a line somewhere and I'm not going exploring.

To compare the prediction contest as similar to "fantasy sports" is laughable. It takes me all of 2 minutes of thought to throw out my guess-- a quick look at how the other teams results/schedule might add another minute. It costs nothing. And in the time it took you to write the reply, you could have entered a prediction. Those of us who are playing every game know the results of the previous games and is the main reason most people guess around 60-70 percent.

That last game FT%  (11-22, 50%) was not representative of the entire season. -- our season average FT% for the team is currently at 61.9% . Your initial response in this thread was that our average was 50% and that we were optimists. I prefer the term "informed".

I was going for the opposite.  I guess I just saw the 2 guesses at 70% and thought that was high for a team averaging 62%.  So now you've made me spend more time going through this thread.  Shame on you. We retired people are very busy.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
