Everything else rolls down hill from there.

It's really the quickest way to stop bleeding money from the football program. I may be wrong, but I think we net more money on home games than we would for most payday games. Bottom line is, schools in worse conferences than the AAC, with far less attendance, are making it happen. Now whether it was financially wise of them to do so is another question... USF sold ~30k average per game in tickets this season with GTech as the only real "marquee" home matchup. gotta invest in the program to get any returns. 2+ decades in this program has already cashed in on its natural growth potential & (IMO) has wasted much of the opportunities it gained from realizing that potential. the school didn't capitalize when the football program was in a Power conference, ranked in the Top 10 & selling 40-50k tickets a game with big game sell outs (WVU). chances are we're not getting back there without investing in the facilities-- IPF & OCS included-- necessary to put this team on even footing or better with other teams in the conference. So you're saying it Leavitt's fault? Edit: I'm kidding. It is an attempt at humor. Edited January 2, 2019 by CousinRicky

He kept it competitive once he got there. it wasn't his job to seize the opportunity & build an OCS. thats above the pay grade of an HC, although I'm sure CJL wasn't standing in the way of an OCS either. i do remember him pushing for a cafeteria tho. Has anybody heard any names? Not a peep... nor will you. The hiring of a university president is always done with highest degree of confidentiality in order to protect the applicant. What was attendance for game #2 in our storied history? They wised up. It was the new shiny object. It was history in the making. Then, as is often the case, the luster wore off. Critical to vitality? That's a tough one. Could we be satisfied with an IPF and another two decades at RayJ?
