Genord and Phillips Earn Preseason All-Conference Honors
Genord was named all-conference first base and Phillips as one of three all-conference outfielders;
The tandem each hit better than .300 last year, combining for 75 RBI and 24 doubles

TAMPA, DECEMBER 27, 2018 – Seniors Joe Genord and Kyle Phillips were recognized by the American Athletic Conference, both being named preseason all-conference, as voted on by the league head coaches.

Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) was named to the second team all-conference in 2018, and leads a great nucleus of returning veteran talent. The senior first baseman powered the Bulls with a team high 16 home runs last season. He hit .306 with 11 doubles, a .633 slugging percentage and 53 RBI.

Phillips (Orlando) leads an experienced outfield returning in 2019. In his first season at USF, Phillips finished second on the team with a .333 average and was named to the DeLand Regional All-Tournament team. He had five homers, 13 doubles and 22 RBI.

The Bulls were picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll. An extremely deep American Athletic Conference sent four teams to regionals last year, two of which hosted. Defending champions ECU were picked to repeat, receiving six of the nine first-place votes. The conference tournament runner up Houston was picked to finish second, followed by UConn, UCF and USF. Tulane, Wichita St., Cincinnati and Memphis round out the poll.

The Bulls begin their quest at a third-straight NCAA tournament appearance on Feb. 15, as they open the 2019 season with a home series against Samford. USF officially announced an extremely challenging schedule on Dec. 14. The 2019 slate features 55 contests, 30 being played in Tampa. USF will meet schools from seven different conferences and play 22 games against teams that appeared in an NCAA regional last year. The full 2019 schedule can be found HERE

Tickets for the 2019 USF baseball season can be found HERE, or renewed HERE. Season tickets are $80 ($64 for USF Alumni, Faculty, or Staff), and there is a Flex Pack option that includes 10 tickets for $30. For the Florida (Feb. 19) and Florida State (Feb. 26) matchups, the single game ticket prices will be $10. All other single game tickets will be $7 for ages 12 and over, and $5 for children under the age of 12.

A solid practice facility will only take you so far. Do we have any word on whether Mohl lets the baseball players smoke weed?

They lost a lot of pieces over the past couple of years.  Top 2 SP and top hitter from last year.  Prediction of 5th isn't unreasonable

Back to back NCAA appearances.  Is there any doubt?
