14,135 announced. I'm sure the rain dissuaded a couple hundred walk-ups. On a perfect day there wouldn't have been 18,000 tickets sold.

To be fair (and I know we were playing on our home field), I don't think anyone really cares about attendance for these made-for-tv bowl games that are on work weekdays.  Just check out the Bahamas bowl in an hour.  Even with FIU in the game, I will guess there may be 5,000 to 8,000 people in that track stadium with most of them being locals that got free tickets.

Sadly, that sounds about right...

Any chance 4 inches of rain kept some people away????????

and tornado warnings until 4 or 5 o'clock.  Nope, it's the fans that suck ......

Looked like a lot less on tv but it was a made for tv money bowl game against CUSA in cold rainy weather after a 5 game collapse. Like others said, folks don't show up for these ESPN created games.

There isn't a college football team in America that would still have a great turnout for a game given all of these

  1. It was a weekday game
  2. There was terrible weather all day, including 3 tornados in the Tampa area. There was a lot of rain and it was cold.
  3. We had lost 5 games in a row and looked atrocious doing it
  4. The on field product has been terrible all season
  5. All the students are on break, meaning a lot of them are at home and not in Tampa
  6. It was essentially a home game, yet ticket prices were more expensive
  7. The opponent was a nobody
  8. Nobody honestly expected USF to win or play well based on what we have seen this season.

At this point I feel like they should pay us to attend the games.

You and many others. I wonder how many people there actually paid for a ticket. I know that Marshall’s players got free tickets for family

I love all the excuses.

There were 15, 000 tickets distributed or sold. The rain wasn’t chasing that man fans.
