I'm not sure that telling a potential new coach that we fired a guy for losing 6 in a row and having to pull out a last minute win against Tulsa would be that hard to sell.  Depending on who you hire it may help recruiting.

it would not be a deterrent for the right guy. they would see a huge opportunity(look what Taggart did by being successful here) and a Million + we would pay. we need an innovative offensive minded coach who recruits florida.

successful people admit their mistakes and make a change. failures stick to what's not working determined it's not their fault

Not firing Strong now will be a mistake...unless we have a stud qb in freshmen class this team will really struggle for years.

agree. but just a stud at QB isn't the answer.

we won 7 games- last minute FG against Tulsa, at least 2 others that could easily have been a loss.

... a guy in just his second year with a 9 game over .500 record. A potential new coach would look at USF's vaunted football history, wonder why the short leash, smile and say thanks but no thanks ...... obviously there may be one out there desperate enough for the opportunity but I'd question his critical thinking skills.

As far as recruiting goes, sure it could help recruiting but CCS just pulled in a decent class and if you let him go at this point, you're giving opposing recruiters great ammo about the instability of the program for at least a year or so.
