Coming into this class I thought we needed 2-3 big DT's. So far we have 0. I wonder if they are going to continue playing DE's at DT...230 lb guys on the interior does not seem like a good way to defend the run but correct me if I'm wrong.

Starters:

Kegler - 284

Pinkney - 288

Back Ups:

Barber - 260

Waller - 342

Leacock - 270

Armon Williams - 285

Yes it sucks to lose Ray to FSU however I think we are more than fine at DT.

LB on the other hand is a cause for concern. Unproven or underwhelming players everywhere: Polk, Reaves, Grier, Boyles, Copeland, Johnson, Sawtelle

We currently have 7 DTs, 3 Juniors and 4 redshirt freshman. A good 15-30Ibls is what's needed on most of them except for Waller.

Waller was switched to the O line. Also Yates plays D tackle and not d end

How did our #1 and #2 AAC recruiting rankings work out for us?  We're fine for the AAC at least.

I think they will move him back to DT. I mean his highschool tape looked great on both sides of the ball.

Shouldn't DT,s be about 300lbs or more Seems that Kegler and Pinkney would have put on the necessary weight last year. I hear CSS saying they need to be bigger on defense so would not that fall on the strength coach ? If so then the current Strength coach needs to be let go cause he is not doing what CCS wants ... Not speaking as in the know but just trying to get some input to satisfy my wondering .

Ed Oliver is 290 and was 275 coming out of HS.

Quick Google search on Warren Sapp playing weight.

Sapp wouldn't disclose how much weight he lost but coach Lane Kiffin said his star defensive tackle was down to 285 pounds from 334 late last season. (2007)

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
