I simply want the best available opponent available. In the end, we have a nice schedule for the future. Hopefully we add a few more P5 teams and keep it moving.

I like this line:

"The scheduling argument isn’t about a fear of losing, it’s about the potential to lose control on numerous levels: the game, recruiting and access to CFP – to name a few."

If playing 2 for 1 instead of 1 for 1 bothers you then

A. you are worried about the wrong thing. The most important thing is getting them on the schedule.

B. you are looking for the G5  to gain some sort of equality when the goal should be to get out and the way out is to be a good business partner.

Playing the Gators is an opportunity to force USF students who grew up UF fans to pick an allegiance. Most should pick the school they actually went/go to (if we can be competitive by then).

We're doing what we have to do to open a door for more respect.  We don't have the means to negotiate a ton with a team like UF or FSU so until some other g5 school comes along and manages to work out a better deal instead of acting like P5 owes them something then this still has a ton of upside for us.  We win one of these games and we earn more respect.  Two of them? Then schools like UCF can buckle up in the back seat.

Technically our latest deal with UF is a 1 for 1 since we still owed them a game in Gainesville from the 2 for 0 deal we made earlier.

And WVU. At home. With 100,000 people in attendance in the best college atmosphere game in the history of the multiverse. Everyone who attended was permanently deafened.

Indeed but we’re don’t have the privilege of playing as good of a schedule that he had back then anymore so we have to do what we can now to get the best games possible.
