Ill take Joe Kinnan in a heartbeat But from what I remember, in an interview he had I think he loooved being an advisor b/c he didn't have to do as much as a coach. It seems as if he is winding down the path of retirement.

I just posted this in another thread, but I have a solution to said problem...King and Kinnan as co-offensive coordinators.

Let the architect of the Gulf Coast Offense pass his knowledge on to King and then in a couple of years when Kinnan is ready to retire, King will take the full reins - maybe even stepping into a higher role (HC anyone) if it goes well.

Let's see, we can:

1) Open the checkbook and try and get a high profile, established OC.

2) Gamble on someone with high upside, but no proven track record.

3) Hire a former OC who flamed out as a HC, like Kingsbury or Kiffin , who's coaching for his life.

4) End up with whoever's left when all the great OCs and anyone with major upside have all been snatched up.

Which one seems like the most USF thing to do?

When you put it that way..... Where's the closest liquor store.

Mike Sanford Sr. would fit that bill......

Has he ever coached in a spread offense.

1 is definitely out.

2 is a possibility, but it doesn't seem like that's a very CCS type of move.

3 is possible, but again, doesn't seem like a CCS move and I don't know who's still out there that fits this profile.

4 just seems too much like us.

I don't know if he has, but familiarity could trump that.   Bad Charlie Strong makes that hire.. Good Charlie Strong goes outside of his comfort zone to find the best guy....

When I think of CCS, I always think of Captain Holt from Brooklyn Nine Nine.

People say I can't adapt my offense and open things up, but they're wrong. Look, I've already unbuttoned the top button of my polo.

SK for OC. We need to build from within.
