you think that's all that is costing us to jail him?? how naive.

What else is it costing for that night or two?  Did they have to hire more guards, turn on more lights?

yes they do if they fill jails with nonviolent offenders. you assume it's just him that is arrested for something so stupid.

Statists gonna state.

if Your Lord And Savior the GOVERNMENT issued a decree that making a horn hand-sign while waving it in a circle to "The Bull" was illegal, most of u would promptly put your hands in your pockets.

So he did something to get his license suspended, then got caught driving on a suspended license, then didn't show up to court?

This appears to be the case, but hey

and it's quite possible he had no idea his license was suspended.

It's a jail where they hold mostly nonviolent offenders until they can either post bail or see a judge.

Sure, which is probably why he was issued a summons to appear in court to take care of the issue.  He didn't show so that's why they went and got him.

Or that he did anything to get it suspended in the first place... or that he had to go to court...

exact same situation happened to me. had no idea my license had been suspended. they issued a bench warrant and sent a PO. all for rolling through a stop sign and forgetting to pay the ticket.

who is the victim? do u know? or is boot leather just your favorite snack?

jail/prison should be for violent crimes with actual victims.

if the original reason his license was suspended caused harm to someone, he would have been arrested already.

this is procedural ********.
