sounds good to me.

parking tickets should be a civil violation. the property owner where a car has parked without authorization can file a claim in court for redress. ignore the summons, claimant gets a default judgement, the fees are garnished from wages.

NOT. WORTH. LOSING. FREEDOM.

Agreed, he should have showed up to court so he could avoid being brought to jail by the cops.

how much does it cost taxpayers to feed and house him?

I doubt the baloney sandwich or two is really breaking the bank

I was given a ticket. stuffed it in my glove box and forgot all about it. they issued a bench warrant. I obviously didn't show. They then sent a PO to my house to arrest me. all for a $100 ticket for rolling through a stop sign.

He was released on his own and given a written promise to appear to answer to the charges.  He didn't appear so that is why a warrant was issued and now he is taken to jail so he can answer to charges.  He may be able to bail out.   Bottom line, he was given a chance to just come to court and resolve the driving issue.  He didn't show so now it is a bigger deal.  Probably would have just gotten a fine if he had showed.

So if you break the law and then don't show up to court, they take that **** seriously?

This is a great sign. Let's hope he stays on the team and is as productive on defense as Mike Ford was running the ball.

he shouldn't have been brought to jail by the cops for failure to appear regardless.

take him directly to the magistrate to appear, not to jail.

smh.

And while we don't know why the license was suspended.  It appears the summons to appear was written because he was driving while that license was suspended

And his stay at Rikers probably cost less than everyone who sat around in court waiting on him.

So he did something to get his license suspended, then got caught driving on a suspended license, then didn't show up to court?
