So we couldn’t fire him because of the early signing period but now he is leaving which will have no effect on the early signing period.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Reality, he wasn't being fired because there was either a likelihood or a hope that he would land another job.

I feel like I should be grateful for the news, but part of me really wanted to see if Strong had the stones to let him go.. I don’t think he did. Bowl game will be a great opportunity for King.

Geez man, let's just be happy Gilbert is gone. Personally, I think Strong simply allowed the man to find another job and leave on his own rather than fire him.

I'm glad to see Gilbert leave, but do we think Chuck is capable of finding someone good enough to run an offense?

After all, he brought Gilbert with him after Texas.

I think it has more to do with is he willing to bring in someone who will open things up more and then is he willing to actually let that person do it.

their report on Anderson was a little more guarded than this one. They used the phrase "planning on hiring" in regards to Anderson where here they are saying that Gilbert "will be the next head coach". While it is true that something can still happen as the school itself has not announced anything,  they seem to be a little more sure here.

Reality is, though, it's still an unsourced rumor and I hate seeing Bull brethren get their hopes and dreams crushed if it can be avoided ....

I agree with this sentiment. Hopefully Mattox bounces with him.

Yeah, good chance this was established during a meeting with Kelly & CCS. Something along the lines of, I’ll give Sterlin until the 21st to find a new job. Start looking for your replacement now

At least we don’t have to pay to get rid of Gilbert. Let king coach the bowl game

The gambit paid off but it unfortunately doesn’t answer for the fans if we were willing or able to make big changes on our own.

That's a tough train to keep in the station.
