Sterlin Gilbert will be the next McNeese State head coach, sources told FootballScoop on Wednesday barring any unforeseen issues.

They reported Andersen to Utah State with same type disclaimer and he didn't end up getting job so have guarded hopes at least ....

their report on Anderson was a little more guarded than this one. They used the phrase "planning on hiring" in regards to Anderson where here they are saying that Gilbert "will be the next head coach". While it is true that something can still happen as the school itself has not announced anything,  they seem to be a little more sure here.

I'm glad to see Gilbert leave, but do we think Chuck is capable of finding someone good enough to run an offense?

After all, he brought Gilbert with him after Texas.
