I have 100% confidence in CCS.  He will leave no stone unturned to find a replacement  OC just as good as his outgoing OC.

McNeese State (FCS – LA): Source tells FootballScoop Sterlin Gilbert does not plan to retain any of the on field coaches from Lance Guidry’s staff.

Who did Strong retain other than King? We had guys on our staff that should have stayed with us, and I’m sure the same can be said about Mcneese State. I know it’s pretty common to get rid of everyone but it seems more logical to merge what you can to create the best opportunities.

Maddox and Burke need to go with him but this could all very easily blow up in his face.

Gilbert did say that he will call plays for McNeese. He also said that he will hire what sounds like a co-offensive coordinator as well.

That smells of a Mattox hire

Probably can't afford to take them.  I think they came here with Texas money.

Mattox will probably be gone for sure. Burke played under Strong so I am not so sure about that one, not sure how Gilbert feels about him. I would like to think Charlie Williams won't be back but i have no idea.

S&C Coach Moorer is a Strong guy so I would expect him back.

As good as the numbers looked (mainly last year), this guy solely relied on out-talenting the opposition.  The JV playbook was predictable and did not fully utilize our skill players.  The gap-run, slot curl, all-go sequence every series was dreadful.  I do not know how he received head coach consideration, but I'm happy he took the job!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
