I hope that number is minuscule. No coach should be bigger than the program, even CJL for all he did here. Anybody holding back money because of that is certainly entitled to do that if they wish but if so, it goes back to the naivete of some of our fans when it comes to how college sports works.

Completely agree. If someone is holding back money due to a coach not being here is really not a supporter of the university. Even if they did start to give money because of the hire, their involvement financially would only be temporary as they are really not fully vested in the athletic program (and probably not in the university either).

The point wasn't that people are spitefully not giving because CJL was dismissed, just that hiring him back could provide the added buzz to get things cranked up. It would be the same if we hired Nick Saban I suppose, but, since we're USF and G5, finances are limited, I don't see an "up-and-coming" or "retread" hire that legitimately could come here bringing the kind of excitement as a Jim Leavitt re-hire.

Everyone thinks it's a fantastic idea to get back with their ex until they do....   The truth is you are getting a brand new person and not the person you remember through those rose tinted glasses.  Things are never like they used to be,  they're just how they are.

And unless CJL has a P5 invite in his pocket when he comes back, the best part of the way things used to be isn't coming back with him. I wouldn't have a problem at all if he came back, I just don't think it would have the revitalizing effect that some think it would ...

If somebody overachieves and makes your brand something special, I believe there should be some level of loyalty to that person. If Quinton Flowers was able to play for us again, I don't give a crap if McKenzie Milton is available.

"Speak your own truth!" - Potato millennial proverb.

i may be (an older) millennial, but I still believe in objective reality.

everything else isn't reality, it's hallucination or delusion.

But that question would be applicable before determining if a “coordinated effort” by the donors took place...its a non starter.

I like this guy. his reasoning is incredibly sound.

A before B, B before C... amazing how this simple concept gets lost in the fairytale land of hypotheticals & "personal truths." now where's my poop emoji... oh there it is 💩
