How do you feel about a grocery store lying about being a sub place or when a grocery store tries to be a gas station (ie Pix)?

Counter question: can you find me a Pix on a map?

Shockingly they have all disappeared, mostly because Publix put all of them in the same parking lots as Publix where it could only cannibalize business instead of trying to grow it’s reach in markets too small for a market.

Or the idea of a gas station and sub shop combined into one just sucked.

Nobody wants to eat  a sub after pumping diesel.

Could be but my idea that selling the same product 500 yds from the other place you are selling it from being a bad idea is equally as likely.

Good analogy. I would say that WaWa is the best G5 sandwich maker but Publix is clearly P5 and "Alabama like" in how they dominate.

When it comes to subs Publix is closer to the AAC than it is to Alabama.

Yeah, I'm thinking Publix is closer to a Tennessee.  Good overall, sometimes really good, sometimes meh but definitely capable of being beat by a good G5  (like WaWa)

Facts are facts. What are Publix’s  market differentiators that they use the exact same products you do to make your sandwiches at home and that they put below average chicken strips on a sub? They don’t even try to hide their mediocrity it’s the defining quality of the product. Publix is the basic ***** of the sub market, just bland nothingness skating by on nostalgia.

Was this Northern Virginia? I was in Alexandria from around 2006-2007. Trying to recall Sheetz.....
