They expanded too quickly and spent too much money But that attendance number was not good. The small market teams could never draw and LA and Chicago were wastelands. The only teams doing well attendance wise were the NJ, TPA, and Oak. They expanded to make money on the entrance fee. The NHL did the same thing in the 1990s ( the additions of the Lightning and Senators was the start). So I'm going to give em a shot. That being said I still think the opportunity isn't with AAAA players if you will, but going after ESPN top 300 players. A league similiar to the Canadian Juniors in hockey. Draft from high schoolers. Maybe have a handful of spots for the Manziels of the world, but focus on being the development league for future stars of the NFL. Start paying the 18 year old talent before the NCAA gets around to it.

What the NFL wants, since the folding of the EuroLeague is a farm system, sort of like the G-league in basketball. This is exactly what they are trying to become. "And the NFL wants on-the-bubble players to get reps elsewhere, Polian said. The Chicago Bears recently gave Phoenix general manager Phil Savage a list of prospects for him to watch closely during a scouting trip to Bourbonnais, Illinois" There are discussions about allowing backups who haven't cracked the starting lineup in the NFL to play in this league. Every contract has an instant opt-out if the they end up getting a chance at the NFL. All contracts are 3 years in length and pay 250k/yr. The players have additional earning potential with bonuses and sponsorships. Everything about this league is slick, even the website, easy to use, loads quickly. I think, assuming market, this league will work out. And, no chance it combines with the 'new' XFL which doesn't open its doors at least a season or two down the road. Look at the rules, no kickoffs, 30 second clock, no onside kick(scoring team can opt for a 4th and 10 from their own 35, if they make it the drive continues, if they don't the opposing team gets the ball at that spot) Name drops, Charlie Ebersol (son of **** Ebersol), CEO, Steve Spurrier Orlando Coach, Troy Polamalu - Player Affairs, Hines Ward - Player Relations, Jared Allen - Player Relations, Mike Singletary, MIke Vick, Brad Childress; all involved one way or another with this league.
