He tried the CFL last year but was cut by  Saskatchewan in the preseason.

Which says a lot about this new league.

It's like the futile hobby for the filthy rich to throw money away on. Leagues to compete against the NFL.

Spring League, not really competing against the NFL.  The USFL was great back in the day until they attempted to compete with the NFL

All football leagues compete against the NFl, even if they aren't at the same time.

USFL would have only lasted a few more years. Attendance was going down.

maybe, the issue problem comes down to TV revenue.  Can they secure large enough deals to keep the lights on or not?

If you are referring to this new league, I would not buy any stock into it. They have about a 20% chance of lasting three years.

I see an AAFL and XFL marriage in year 3

...and that will last another year. Many are simply not going to watch minor league football.

It's all about economics, but USFL's average attendance was the same in Y3 as Y1.  They expanded too quickly and spent too much money

I hope this new league provides employment for the handful of talented USF football players who can still play but are unemployed.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
