Strong will be fired. Maybe not today but, tomorrow, the next day, next week, next year. It will happen eventually. So I guess this thread is correct in that aspect.

You don't think Bama will hire him after Saban retires?

But the difference b/w the arrogance of UF fans and USF fans is that USF haven't won enough Chiit to warrant that attitude.

This sense of entitlement to think USF is good enough to fire a coach his 2nd year 2 baffles me.

This seems to be the point of your post.  I agree that Charlie may not get fired this year, and if it weren't for the buyout, I would want to give him more time.

However, (and acknowledging that you are a Bulls fan) your post comes off as some P5 elitist daddy correcting his child.  At exactly what point does a team that "hasn't won chiit" make every move possible to improve?  Are there "Big Boy" moves and "little boy" moves?  What does our history, tradition, alumni base, etc. have to do before they are permitted to do everything they can to improve their team?

UF's fanbase has been humbled recently.  That is the best thing to happen to them as I totally agree with your assessment of their lack of humility.  You might welcome them once again.

This is not a slam against you; you seem like a good guy.  It is however, a slam against your post and my perception that it is borne of P5 hubris.

Mack Brown to UNC has to be the worst April fools joke ever. Someone tell unc that it’s almost December.

I think Strong def returns but Gilbert does not; that is the safe bet.

If nothing else there should be the leverage to get CCS to take a paycut. Most around here were predicting a 7-8 win season back in July/August and that is what we got. The problem is how it happened. Had we gone 3-3 to the start the season and 4-2 to finish the season with wins over UCF, Tulane, UConn and one of Temple/Cincy I don't think anyone would have had a problem. It's the five losses in a low that show that most of the team wasn't developing and gelling as the year went on.

Get rid of Gilbert/Mattox/Williams/Burke, drop Strong's salary next year to 1.5-1.8 million, and that's how Strong stays. And I'm still not sure with all that if he sees any progression to assure a 10 win season next year (which is what we should expect with a team of upper classmen).

IF you fire Strong before the bowl game, who coaches the bowl game? This is a clean house situation. Let this staff coach the bowl game and then clean house (except for King).

So without the hyperbole and let's assume that CCS is staying.  What is the minimum shakeup that needs to be done to satisfy.

Anyone who's ever even made eye-contact with a member of our offensive line.

Entire offensive staff except King.  Anyone associated with Special Teams.
