We have 12 threads a week begging USF to fire a guy who's doing what Bill Snyder's done at K-State in his second go 'round.

78-48 with no conference titles and a 3-5 bowl record.

That's 8-5 with a bowl loss for a decade.

Big 12 a little different than AAC

went 11-1 one year when he returned got to #1 in the country

how did Strong do in the Big 12 with a program that has it's own ESPN channel?

You're right. Bill Snyder is killing it on his farewell tour.

And he went 11-1 in 1999. Unless you're talking about 2012 when they peaked at #2 and finished 11/12.

he went 11-1 in 2012

he was conference co-champion that year and represented the big 12 in a bcs bowl

he beat ranked Texas, OU, WVU, and texas tech that year along with TCU,Oklahoma state and miami

10-2 in 2011

Like I said. Killing it. 8-5 with a bowl loss for a decade. While I understand that's good for K State, that gets you pages of vitriol on TBP.

I can't think of too many coaches that have gone back and had success.  I'm sure there are a couple but I think of Joe Gibbs going back to Washington.  Petrino didn't work out.  Having trouble recalling others.  Did Barry Switzer come out of retirement?  The guy up in Connecticut isn't setting the world afire.

Michael Jordan!

I was just pointing out a coach that had success his 2nd time around. and yes he has been more than impressive at k-state. it's not like we are talking about a power house program like Texas.

Not sure how Texas applies to coaches being rehired and having success.

And yes, 8-5 is good for K State, but 8-5 clearly doesn't make our crowd happy.

Bill Snyder went 10-2 and 11-1 after he returned

I think he had two great years after his return (like Petrino), but 6 to 8 fair to poor years. He is a bit of a dictator there trying to get his son to replace him as coach.

odd thing is CJL is more likely to be the HC at KSU than he is coming back to USF.

Nothing wrong about that-- it is pretty rare for any coach to make a return appearance-- sort of why finding good examples is hard to do.
