$990 with bonuses. Forgot I posted his contract in the last thread we made about him.

Gotcha. I agree that it would tough to get him to leave, but it’s at least worth a call.

UCF has hired two top p5 OCs for their last 2 HCs. Not sure why people think it's difficult. They pay Heupel $1.7M where he earned $700k + bonuses at Mizzou. If they want a big p5 HC job then this is where they audition.

We hired a guy that imploded the only program in the country that has their own ESPN channel.

Here is that call:

Kelly- would you be interested in the position at $2.1 mil per year.

Clemson Dude- that sounds great! How long is the contract?

Kelly- four years but you only get two to show the fans at Bull Pen something or you are fired.

Kelly- hello, hello, is anyone there....

LOL

We gave Taggart 4 years to turn this dumpster fire around. It only took Strong 1.5 years to ruin it.

After this year, Strong will be where Tags was after the 14 season.  2 years in and officially on the clock for year 3.  Tags made some changes turned Q loose and the rest is history.  Strong will have next year to get things righted.  He has just about everybody coming back most of which are his recruits so no excuses.  If he makes no changes, then he is putting his career in the hands of Gilbert, et al.

Quick, someone give Joe Kinnan a call and see what he’s doing.

It has less to do with him being an P5 OC and more to do with how loyal he is to Dabo and Clemson. How many top flight OC’s are willing to take a co-OC role in order to justify having as much talent on the staff as possible? Dabo is special in getting guys to buy in.

if he has any ambition to be a top level HC, he will need to leave. Maybe he is the next Bud Foster but I doubt it.

Just like UCF, We are a very desirable job for any coordinator that wants to take the next step. Our state is loaded with talent and we have the resources to compete in our conference.

1. Fire everybody

2. Bring back CJL. With Judy retiring all prior administration ties are gone.

3. Run the table two years in a row to win the NC.

I agree with you. I’m just providing the argument for the other side and why he hasn’t left YET
