He was on 1040am with Rock Riley this afternoon.  Rock asked about his roots in Florida and how he became a Gator fan and he said they did play at the SAE house in Gainesville and talked about his Gator helmet but then said I’m a USF GUY now!!!  :GoBulls:

You rock Greg Billings!

That's awesome!  Used to love Stranger back in the day.

Greg Billings was in Stranger mid 80's to mid 90's.  They were poised to be the South's answer to Van Halen.

Curious...So what happened to them? I swear I’ve never heard of them and mid 80s was my time.

I think they just faded out after a couple record deals went south.   I remember seeing them at the old Bayfront Theater (now Mahaffey Theatre), Rock-It Club/End Zone on Dale Mabry (now part of Jerry Ulm car dealership near the stadium), Busch Gardens and a number of bars near USF in the 80's.  I don't remember if they ever played at USF  - Empty Keg slappy hour, River Riot or opened for anyione at the Sun Dome.  I was more into punk/new wave at the time but always enjoyed them for their live shows.  Good times!
