After watching him in comparison with CO, it's clear he's the more talented QB.  His maturity was a major factor in that last drive.

I don't think the coaching staff allowed CO the opportunity to really play QB. He was more of a wildcat runner, didn't seem to call a single pass play for him. Maybe he's shown in practice that he absolutely can't do it, but, I thought him and Kean were looking OK in the spring.

BB has all of the tools, but, I don't think he has the intangibles to be great. He can be OK for us, but, I think I see why he has moved around a bit. I hope he gets better with time, and, the OL needs to improve. I also agree that OCSG needs to put him in better spots to succeed. What I would like to know is if every play has a deep route and BB is constantly choosing that throw, or, if that is really what SG wants out of him.

Here's the thing about BB. Sterling Gilbert does not put him in a position to succeed.

List of things that would help this offense and BB:

1.Short slant passes

2. Designed runs to the perimeter

3. Instead of throwing long a million times have the WR come back to keep the DB honest. (Seemed Tulsa ran our routes all night)

4. Screens and dump offs to Cronk

5. More plays for Wilcox

6. Jet sweeps with our fast as hell WRs

7. Move Barnett out of the pocket on play action rollouts

8. Bubble screens that are on the same side of the hash.

9. Misdirection runs

10. HB wheel routes

Anything to add?

Be our OC?

I’ve been screaming this for weeks.  If you are having problems blocking, run plays to counter that!   We have an outstanding TE that is grossly underutilized and NO presence in the middle of the field.  I think my main issue with the offense is a total lack of creativity.   How many trick plays have we run?   Can you, from your couch, predict our next play?......because opposing DCs sure as hell can.  It’s painful to watch our talent be squandered.  The #1 job coaches have is to put the players in a position to succeed and I simply don’t see that.

PS might be time to work on limiting the dozen or so dropped passes.....just a thought.

Barnett needs to look at his 2nd and 3rd options, he stares down the number one target and rarely if ever moves on to 2. Never to 3.

He throws a beautiful, catchable, and accurate ball. Until he starts finding other options we will never be great.

Give this kid time in the pocket...his accuracy, pocket presence, and field vision are great...he can throw dimes...but the line in front of him has been terrible this season

This is exactly right.

When he is given time to survey the field has a chance to make plays down the field....or take off and run.

The last three games teams have figured out how to get pressure and we have not adjusted. I was glad to see them stick Mayes as a blocking TE toward the end of the game...and you saw what happened. BB11 had time to make his throws or take off when his options were exhausted.

Just keep the two TE set and roll with it.

Agree with all here. Maybe add some plays with max protect so he has time to throw. He takes so long to wind up.

I agree with your first point, but as to the second BB had some really off throws at Tulsa.  And he has a penchant for the INT at times.  Not getting down on him, just saying he still has some accuracy issues to work on.  Good point that getting him other options will only help.
