According to this tidbit in the TBT this morning, L'ville isn't doing so well financially.

CAN’T AFFORD A BUYOUT: Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino's $14 million buyout could save his job.'The university is not in a position to buy him out,' said Tom Meeker, a University of Louisville Athletic Association board member and former chairman of Churchhill Downs. According to the Courier-Journal , donations to Louisville are down and a fund whose $16.8 million balance represented more than two-thirds of ULAA's available funds at the end of 2017, 'lost more than half of its value through basketball coach Chris Mack's buyout from Xavier University and U of L's settlement with former athletic director Tom Jurich.' Louisville fell to 2-4 with a 66-31 loss to Georgia Tech. The Cardinals are 14point underdogs Saturday at Boston College.

They may want to rethink the stadium naming rights?

First World problems

But losing 1/2 a fund value in one year is a big hit no matter who you are.

Methinks the Papa Johns association might be a reason....hopefully a small blip in the short term

They lost the guy who was bringing in the money, so yeah donations are gonna fall. They also had to payout a pretty penny, and are still facing more penalties. I still don’t feel sorry for them, and won’t.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
