This is how the powers that be legitimize moving UCF/USF and Cincinnati into a P5 conference.

in a fair world- sure. But what the real intent of putting teams in these rankings is to give the impression that the system is not rigged (it is).

But it would be great if they looked at it and said-- hey, let's give USF a shot in our conference.

So many years of not getting those extra practices

Yeah those five years were so unbelievable...I still can’t believe it happened to this program. Fortunately it seems so long ago.

5 years is a long time to go without being bowl eligible. At least those teams records were the issue. The 2002 team went 9-2 and had CUSA let us in that year (aside from some stupid delayed entry shenanigans led by Southern Miss if memory serves) would have probably won the conference that year (our team was that good). That team did not get to a bowl game but sent 7+ seniors to year end all star games. That was the worst in my book. That nonsense still stings.

Ya, like you said UC and USF get their one loss and we will drop like a lead balloon. They're just waiting for it.

We have been pretty rank to start most games. I think we'll stay that way.

We can be rank all we want as long as we score more than 1 point than our opponents I could care less...

more shocking to me-- Cincy is at #25

I don't really care about rankings, but it is funny that the AAC has just as many teams in the Top 25 as the ACC and Pac12; also, there are no other G5's listed either. From a national perspective, that looks good for our Conference.

National perception doesn't care.

Looking at the schedule for next week, with a win, we only have a realistic chance to move up a spot or two.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
