It looks like student gov't is working on their own to see if a stadium is supported by the student body. They are trying to out a vote on the ballot to raise tuition by up to $9 per credit hour for a stadium.

The Oracle then put out a video on face book where students, who obviously dont care about anything athletics, said there were against it. The video was clearly one sided.

Had heard about this months ago but was sworn to secrecy.  The goal, I believe, was to come up with $100 million to earmark for a stadium.  We'll see how the vote goes.

Edit: If it passes an OCS will get done sooner rather than later.

Rough math.  100 million / 30 years / 45,000 students is about $74 per year.  Divide that by 30 credits and you are at about $2.5 to 3 per credit hour.  I'm just getting back from a bourbon dinner so my math and logic may be fuzzy. I beg forgiveness.

$10/credit hour seems too steep to pass. Raising the Athletics flat fee would probably be more receptive, from $10 to something like $25

I just got back from a party featuring some great Oklahoma BBQ and some awesome Kentucky Bourbons.  I don’t do math...that’s what CPAs are for.🤓

is there ANY money in an OCS fund from donors/boosters to offset the cost to students?

is there even an OCS fund at all?

in other words, where does the university currently stand with an OCS? are they currently at zero?

i would vote for this as a student, he'll I'd donate money to an OCS fund now.

the only thing I want is to be sure we don't get a ******* wobbly erector set like College of Florida Central.

it should be a quality structure that could be an architectural statement piece for the campus, which last I was on campus still had the hodgepodge of styles spanning the decades in which they were built.

start with 30-35k capacity lower bowl with the potential to expand. obviously it should be multipurpose to hold outdoor events, concerts/festivals, maybe even host a Rowdie's game once a year or something.

home attendance is already in the 25k+ range several miles from campus... student attendance would definitely jump, alum would have more opportunities to return to campus.

so much they could do with it.
