 He is pretty spot on about the state of college athletics even if it was brought on by questions about his job security (I presume).

When your career is hanging by a thread is not the time to have epiphanies about the state of college football as it comes across self serving, have these thoughts when you are at the top and people may listen a little more.

Isn't everyone self serving.  The argument itself holds some water.  Of course many coaches benefit from it as well through their salaries and palatial facilites
