He can't play until 2019 can he?   Why announce transfer midseason?  Why not continue to battle and earn the job back?  Why not be ready in case of injury and then take the job back?  If it doesn't work out, transfer after the season.

Last I checked Jalen Hurts is still dressing for Bama every week.

1) He's a graduate. So he'd be eligible next year.

2) He's a senior, so if he takes one more snap this season, he burns his redshirt and his career ends in 2018.

3) Hurts is a junior, so even though his redshirt is now gone for this year, he can still transfer as a graduate, be eligible immediately, and have another season.

Makes some sense.  Nobody got "slapped in the face" like Hurts though and he's still at Bama.   Does Bryant aspire to play at the next level?  if so why not just suck it up and battle and then enter the draft?

I assume he just wants to play football. That's the big difference between him and Hurts, Hurts still has another year. He played today and burned this season, but he's still going to get to go basically anywhere he wants for next year to play another season.

And he's probably being advised the NFL isn't a slam dunk and he needs to play to help his position.

But when Hurts is gone next year, will he be moved to the other column for guys who stopped trying?

I’ll assume the jury is still out in him being a consistent player for the blue bloods. But yeah he could go to Wake or Vandy and be a starter for sure.

What does this even mean? He has been the starter for a blue blood for a season and 3 games. Leading his team all the way to the playoffs because he does not turn the ball over.

Was it the quality of his play? Or the quality of the team he played for?

Do you really believe he's not any good or are you just dug in too deep into the your dislike of transfers that you had to say something like this?

I am sure he is fine, but Jesus there is a reason why he lost his job. He will go somewhere and get another chance and he can try to prove himself again, but there is no guarantee that he will start.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
