Anyone.. Tampa local or with inside scoop hearing anything on the Practice Facility. I looked around found some old references and the same donation page on USF site. Seems like there is a lot of activity going on at other schools whether it's indoor practice facilities, stadium enhancement, stadiums. I saw the AAC stats regarding how low our donation level is compared to other AAC schools. I know this is old news but I hope it's continuing news so an early 2019 start date could be realized. Phases seem like a logical way to get it started. With low coaching salaries by comparison USF needs to hot foot this project somehow-someway. Any Updates?

From an interview with Michael Kelly posted August 8th.

Quote

Currently, Kelly said they’ve raised “just north of $10 million in pledges” for the center.

“We’ve got a road to go on that, but I’m encouraged and excited about the momentum we’ve got,” he said. “Bottom line is that’s gonna get done and we just have to make it happen as fast as possible.”

I think total complex was around $40 million and they were going to build it in phases.  Not looking good for ground-breaking this year.

I don't have any update (maybe John Lewis will see this). But, here is my hunch ...

Homecoming week, announce the funding will cover phase 1 of construction, (but we still need to fund raise for phase 2.

Sometime before signing day, groundbreaking.

I believe we have enough to complete the design phase of the project with estimate of shovels in the ground next year.

Yeah, I've heard they were close on the goal to start breaking ground and there's possibly still some unannounced large gifts floating around.   This would be a smart approach as it would maximize the audience to try to get fundraising going for phase 2.

Say it louder some folks didn't hear you...

I'm a believer in the theory that all size donations help. Sure the chunks get you there quicker. It's easy to let somebody else do it. There's nothing embarrassing in giving what you can afford were just fine with it. Sometimes I read the Alumni magazine and wonder why  some of the apparent successful high rollers don't have Life Member by their name? The donating debacle at USF Is just one of life's mysteries I guess. My personal feeling is, it's being a part of something. Something I care about.

DONATE DONATE DONATE

And you can make a larger donation paid in monthly payments.

Regarding payments, your donation made for season tix can be made in payments.

Regarding donation for tix, you can have it directed to the Practice Facility.

Go BULLS !!!

We inquired about naming rights for the patio/terrace and thought maybe, maybe if it was $100k and could pay it out over 5 years or more that we would give it consideration.  But found out that they wanted $250k and that it was already taken. So any donation to the IPF will probably be a lot less.

Edit: And before anyone asks why just that, it would have sounded good with our last name.  The other things for $100k are line coaches, D back coaches offices, etc.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
